Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Sliced Fresh Strawberries
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1 Cup Sugar

Instructions

  • Wash the strawberries and cut them into slices.
  • Place all ingredients into a medium saucepan.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat on the stove and bring to a boil and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let simmer for about 30 minutes. Keep an eye on the mixture starting at the 15 minute mark to make sure that the syrup doesn't burn.
  • Set up a fine mesh strainer over a medium sized bowl.
  • Remove the mixture from the heat and pour the strawberry mixture into the strainer and let the strawberry syrup filter through the mesh strainer.
  • Strain the simple strawberry syrup mixture to remove the strawberries. Be sure to strain over a small bowl or dish.
  • You can let the syrup cool before using it or use it right away.
