1 loaf of bread 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened 3-4 cloves of garlic minced 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves chopped 1/2 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) and prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
Slice the bread lengthwise using a serrated knife and place both halves, cut sides up, on the prepared baking sheet.
Add the butter, minced garlic, freshly chopped thyme, and salt in a medium-sized bowl and mix well to combine.
Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over the exposed surfaces of the bread.
Place the prepared bread into the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes or until you notice a slight golden brown color developing along the edges.
For a crispier texture, bake for an additional 3-5 minutes, monitoring it closely until achieving the desired level of golden brown.
If adding cheese, remove the bread after baking for 5 minutes, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top, and place it back in the oven.
