While we love rice krispies in general we wanted to make these even more fun, so we added in some freeze dried strawberries, decorate the top with pink candy melts and Valentine’s day sprinkles for the perfect easy Valentine’s Day treat.

Rice krispie treats are an easy to make no bake treat. Made with just 3 ingredients in the basic rice krispie treats recipe, butter, marshmallows and rice krispie cereal they are simple to make. Rice krispies are easy to change up and add different flavors and toppings for holidays and to make them even more fun, but they all start with the same basic recipe.

Tips For Making Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treats
Do not pack rice krispie treats mixture in to the pan. To achieve soft, and chewy while being crispy marshmallow rice krispie treats you want to be gentle when pressing the mixture into your baking pan.
Use a silicone spatula. I find it best to use a silicone spatula or spoon and spray it generously with non stick spray. Then I gently spread with out pushing down hard, the cereal and marshmallow mixture into my baking dish. This gives the perfect rice krispie treats with out them being hard.
Use a large bowl. Make sure to use a bowl big enough for the 6 cups of cereal when melting the marshmallows to reduce the amount of dishes used.
How do you prevent sticking to the pan when making rice krispie treats?
When you are making these line your baking dish with greased parchment paper. If you don’t have parchment paper on hand make sure you grease your baking dish well. I use nonstick baking spray to grease my baking dishes and parchment paper.
Variations of this recipe
Can use any color melting wafers for the top of the rice Krispie treats.
Use any Valentine’s Day sprinkles. Valentine’s sprinkles can be found at most craft stores on online.
Add M&Ms. You can add Valentine’s Day colored M&Ms to the rice krispie treats if you want to.
Color the rice krispies pink or red.
How do you color Rice Krispie Treats?
If you want to color rice krispies when you have mixed the melted butter and the marshmallow together add a few drops of food coloring and mix to color the mixture.
How do you store Rice Krispie Treats?
You can store them in an airtight container right out at room temperature for about three days. If you need to extend their life, you can place them in the fridge for up to five days.

- 10 ounce package jet puffed marshmallows
- 6 cups rice krispie cereal
- 3 tablespoons salted butter
- ½ cup freeze dried strawberries
- Pink melting wafers
- Valentine’s sprinkles
How to Make Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treats
Grease 9×13 baking dish.
Add the butter and the marshmallows to a microwave safe bowl.
Microwave for 2 minutes. Stir to melt the marshmallows.
Pour in the cereal and mix to combine with the marshmallow mixture.
Fold in the freeze dried strawberries.
Press the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Melt the pink wafers in a microwave safe bowl, in 30 second intervals.
Drizzle the pink over the top of the rice krispie treats in the baking dish.
Sprinkle the Valentine’s sprinkles on top.
Allow to cool completely before cutting.

Ingredients
