Tuna Cakes with Sriracha Aioli Sauce is an easy tuna cakes recipe that is perfect for a quick and easy week night dinner. These easy tuna cakes are made with pantry staples and a few fresh ingredients to give an amazing twist to the traditional tuna cakes.
Tuna Cakes with Sriracha Aioli Sauce
Tuna cakes started in our house because one of my kids asked to have crab cakes for dinner in the middle of winter. We love making homemade crab cakes, but we are all super picky about our crab meat. During the summer months we go to the Jersey shore and catch crabs and then cook them fresh and pick the meat.
We then use the crab meat to make crab cakes that are amazing. I have tried a few times to make them with canned crab and we were all very disappointed, so we now only make crab cakes with fresh crab meat. But that left us needing something for when we wanted crab cakes.
I looked around my pantry and saw I had canned tuna and figured it was worth the shot. Ever since then tuna cakes have been a pantry staple in our house and I always have the ingredients on hand.

What to serve with tuna cakes
The great thing about pantry staple meals is that there are so many side dishes that pair well with them, including tuna cakes. There are not many things that don’t work as a good side dish with them. Normally we serve them with a fresh made salad, pasta or rice (garlic rice and Parmesan rice are great ones!) and a veggie. Depending on the time I have to get dinner done sometimes I make a fresh vegetable side dish and other times I just toss a bag of frozen steamer veggies in the microwave.
