This keto Strawberry Shortcake is the newest chaffle recipe that I am adding to the chaffle recipes here on the blog. And like the other chaffle recipes we have shared this one is totally delish!
One of my favorite desserts is Strawberry shortcake. I love the sweet flavor of the strawberries, mixed with the sweetness of the cake and whipped cream. However my favorite strawberry shortcake recipe is not low carb by any means so while sticking to low carb it has been a no go. Then the keto chaffle recipe exploded facebook and I knew I could turn that into a delicious low carb strawberry shortcake recipe with a few tweeks.
I will warn you though, when I was creating it I did not expect it to be as amazing as it turned out. I expected to have some similarities, but not to be perfect. However the end result is totally amazing, totally perfect and I now don’t have to leave my strawberry shortcake dessert behind. I can now enjoy it whenever I want to!
While this keto chaffle is sweet enough to be a dessert, it is also perfect for a high fat low carb breakfast. Yup, this traditionally a dessert item can be enjoyed for breakfast with no guilt at all!
What is a Chaffle?
Are all your friends talking about chaffles and you are trying to figure out what they are? It’s ok , they are amazing and you will love them. But simply put a chaffle is a waffle made with egg and cheese. Now from the basic chaffle recipe you can make MANY different varieties of chaffles just changing up the type of cheese that you use.
You can also change up the flavors by adding different things to the basic chaffle recipe. There are seriously endless possibilities when making keto chaffles.

Is a Mini Waffle Maker needed?
While I prefer to use my dah mini waffle maker, you can make this keto strawberry shortcake recipe in a large waffle maker. It will make 3 mini chaffles or 1 large keto chaffle.
Strawberry Shortcake Chaffles Ingredients
- Strawberries
- granulated swerve
- Keto Whipped Cream
- Almond flour
- egg
- mozzarella cheese
- vanilla extract
How to Make Strawberry Shortcake Chaffles
Heat up your waffle maker. If you are using a mini waffle maker this recipe will make 3 chaffles, if using a large waffle maker this recipe will make 1 large sweet chaffle.
Rinse and chop up your fresh strawberries. Place the strawberries in a small bowl and add 1/2 tablespoon granulated swerve. Mix the strawberries with the swerve and set aside.
In a bowl mix the almond flour, egg, mozzarella cheese, granulated swerve and vanilla extract.
Pour 1/3 of the batter into your mini waffle maker and cook for 3-4 minutes. Then cook another 1/3 of the batter and the rest of the batter to make 3 keto chaffles.
While your second chaffle is cooking, make your keto whipped cream if you do not have any on hand.
Assemble your Strawberry Shortcake Chaffle by placing whipped cream and strawberries on top of your sweet chaffle. Then drizzle the juice that will also be in the bowl with the strawberries on top.
This recipe will make 3 chaffles and you can eat them however you choose to. You can stack them and fill the middle with whipped cream and top them with strawberries like I did. Or you can top each sweet chaffle with whipped cream and strawberries on its own.

- 3 fresh strawberries
- 1/2 tablespoon granulated swerve
Sweet Chaffle Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon almond flour
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon granulated swerve
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Keto Whipped Cream
Instructions
- Heat up your waffle maker. If you are using a mini waffle maker this recipe will make 2 chaffles, if using a large waffle maker this recipe will make 1 large sweet chaffle.
