Snowman Peppermint Bark
A few years ago I found these cute silicon Christmas molds. I had had no clue what do with them until now. I knew i could have made my peppermint bark like i normal do but i wanted to make it extra special for my husbands holiday party. Check out here for the snowman mold. You can use what ever shape silicon mold you would like to. Check out here for how to melt your chocolate with a double boiler I recommend using good chocolate for this not your normal chocolate chips.
Snowman Peppermint Bark Ingredients
- 8 peppermint candy canes
- 2 cups dark or milk chocolate
- 2 cups white chocolate
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract- divided
- 2 tsp coconut oil- divided
Snowman Peppermint Bark Directions
Place candy canes into a large Ziploc bag and seal tightly. Use a rolling pin to smash the candy canes until the are the size desired. In a double boiler melt dark or milk chocolate and 1 tsp of the coconut oil . Be sure to stir frequently and scrap down the sides of the pot with a rubber spatula to avoid scorching the chocolate. Once the chocolate is melted, stir in 1/4 tsp peppermint extract. Pour 1 – 3 teaspoons of the melted chocolate into your molds. Refrigerate until completely hardened, about 1 hour. Take your mold out of the refrigerator. With your clean double boiler melt your white chocolate just like your dark or milk chocolate. Stir in the peppermint extract. Pour 1 – 3 teaspoons of the melted chocolate into your molds on top of the chocolate. Sprinkle the candy canes on top of the white chocolate. Refrigerate until completely hardened, about 1 hour. Remove from the molds and enjoy.
