This Snow Place Like Home DIY Canvas was one of my favorites to make. I wanted to make a sign this year that was funny because of where I live because I am used to living up north. Now that I am down south we are most likely not going to be able to see snow this year which I am going to miss so I am having fun making things that remind me of the snow. This Snow Place Like Home DIY Lite Up Canvas is one of my favorites!

This snowman canvas is a great play on words, instead of no place like home it will be snow place like home.

If you feel like you can’t freehand the snowman you can always trace a small plate that is hanging off the edge of your canvas.

There’s Snow Place Like Home DIY Canvas  Supplies

• Canvas
• Black, blue, white, orange and pink paint
• Fake snow
• Small strand of white lights
• Paint brushes
• Screwdriver
• Masking tape

There’s Snow Place Like Home DIY Canvas Directions

Add little spots of the black and blue paint all over the canvas. With long brushstrokes brush on an angle brush from one corner to the next making sure to cover the whole canvas.

Sprinkle the fake snow on the canvas while the paint is still wet, let dry. In the bottom corner of the canvas paint the snowman’s head as a medium round circle that’s falling off the canvas, let dry.

Add a long triangle on the top of the snowman’s head in the orange paint for a carrots nose. Add two small black dots to its face for its eyes.

Add a small pale pink circle where it’s cheek should be. Make small black circles to make smile making sure you end on top of the pink circle. Write the saying there’s snow place like home.

 

Paint on white stars and make sure you make one large star as the north star, let dry.

Using your screwdriver carefully hold the back of the canvas and poke small holes in the center of each star.

Tread the lights through the back of the canvas into each hole. Tape down all of the lights to the back of the canvas. Plug-in and enjoy.
