Summer Movie Express Tips
Go Early or get your tickets online. These summer movies fill up fast and the tickets do tend to sell out. Getting there early or getting your tickets online means you won’t miss the movie.
Bring Snacks. You can pack snacks in your bag when you are going to the $2 summer movies.
Don’t Expect Quiet Kids. The theater will be filled with lots of kids, many of them younger so the theater won’t be quiet but this is a good way to get young children ready to go to a movie and sit quietly while watching it.

This is great except a lot of parents work day shift and can’t go to the movies at 10am.
Tiffany says

Jenni says
I agree. There should be an evening showing too.
Lindsay says
I think it’s catered more towards the kids rather than who brings them. I won’t complain because with my huge family, this gives us an opportunity to go. Going at ten in the morning will be weird though lol

My kids are in college now, but I used to leave money for our babysitter to take them places…zoo, aquarium, movies (on a rainy day!) because I didn’t have $1 movies!! Just a thought for special occasion.

It’s probably more so for us mom’s who are home with the kids and need to get them out to do something before everyone goes crazy. If both parents are working, kids are probably at a camp, day care etc so they’re being stimulated and entertained. They’re movies that are like in red box right now, not what’s currently in theater so not missing too much. Plus there’s usually cheaper mommy and me morning things like this usually for toddlers so not much different but it only being $1 is nice for those of us who are broke and home.
Laura says
It is still great for Day Camps or Day Programs who support individuals with intellectual/mental challenges.
If your child(ren) attend a day camp/daycare, this would be great for them to do.

Thank you for the movie deal info for summer. I have to ask…. why do you go by midget mommy? I have a daughter with dwarfism… and that weird midget is derogatory.
MidgetMomma says
Hello 🙂 You’re welcome! I go by the name midgetmomma as I have for the past 14 years online (8 years of that being a blogger) because I myself am 4 foot 10 inches tall. Instead of letting people use the word midget to make fun of me for being 4 foot 10, I own it that I am who I am 🙂
Binki says
Love it!! If only more people would stop letting words have power over them, the world would be a happier place. <3
Kim says
The word is only derogatory if you allow it to be. If you see your daughter as beautiful, then she will see herself the same. People will always call others names: “four-eyes”, “cracker”, “buck-tooth”, “pigeon-toed”…the reality is, people need to have self-confidence and not let a word bring them down. In all of those examples, the words may describe a person’s reality, but if they embrace who they are and love themselves, they should not find those words derogatory, just another word to describe who they are. It is often the context and the inflection that makes a word derogatory. In some cases, people can make any word derogatory. Be less worried about how others may use words that describe your daughter, and focus on teaching her that she is perfect just the way she is. I bet you are an excellent mother who wants your wonderful daughter to never hear words that hurt…unfortunately, all of us hear words thar hurt. It is how we are taught to handle them that makes the difference.
