Pumpkin Slime
Have a pumpkin and not sure what to do with it? Make some slime! This slime is so much fun to make and the kids love playing with it! It is the perfect fall craft to do with the kids!
For this slime recipe I used a small pumpkin, however I know most of you will probably be wanting to use the pumpkin guts that you have from the pumpkins you are carving. That is what we normally do, however this year when we went to get pumpkins, the patch we went to only had small ones, so we make do with what we have. 🙂
If you have never gone to a pumpkin patch and normally buy your pumpkins at the store, I urge you to one time to go to a pumpkin patch. Go to the farm, take the hayride, and let the kids find their pumpkins. It is so much fun, I try to do it every year because as a family we love going and if you have never done it, I think it is something everyone should do at least once. Plus the pictures always turn out amazing because we are surrounded by awesome views of nature!
The big kids love the trip as much as the littles do each fall, so it is the perfect family trip to take on a beautiful fall day!
If you are wondering what to do with pumpkin guts you already have but have big pumpkins, you do not have to go out and buy new pumpkins to make this pumpkin slime. If you have a large pumpkin then you will just want to take 1 1/2 -2 cups of pumpkin guts to make this pumpkin slime.
When I carve a large pumpkin and have all the guts I also spilt the pumpkin seeds so I can make a batch of homemade pumpkin seeds and a batch of slime. We love homemade pumpkin seeds, they are just so tasty to enjoy during the fall!
I think it is fun to make pumpkin slime in the pumpkin when we are using small pumpkins, but you do not have to mix this pumpkin slime in your pumpkin if you do not want to. If you would prefer to use a large pumpkin that you are carving already then you can remove the insides and mix everything in a large bowl.
How long will this slime last?
The slime will last about 5-7 days, which in our house is plenty of time for it to last during our fall fun and playing with it a bunch of times. Pumpkin slime lasts less time then normal slime because you are using a “food” item.
