For my daughters first birthday I wanted to make her a special gift that was just for her. I am not the best at sewing but I know what I’m doing. This DIY Minky Blanket is easy to make however working with minky fabric has some difficulty because the fabric is a bit slippery because of how soft it is. It has a tendency to move under the sewing machine but the trick to getting around this is to use extra sewing pins! Other than that this DIY Minky Blanket is easy to make and only has a few steps!
You do not need a fancy machine to sew this, you can use a cheap easy to use one like this one here and be just fine!
You can grab fabric at any fabric store, or order it online by the yard at joann fabric here.
You could make this in any size you need but I wanted something that would be great for her toddler years.
You can use these same directions to make any size blanket that you want to! Just follow the sizing amount for the sizes below and you want EACH piece of fabric to be that amount.
