When making these soft chocolate cake cookies you can use canned frosting or you can use homemade. I like to change things up at times when I am making these soft baked chocolate cookies and change up the flavors by using different frosting flavors.
If you are wanting to make these chocolate cookies more festive, use red cookie frosting or a white frosting died red using food coloring. As much as I love royal icing, these are not the cookies to use that with. You want to use the same frosting that you would use on a cupcake or cake to frost these cookies.
