Grilled Hawaiian Teriyaki Burgers
If you are looking for a grilled hamburger that is going to wow everyone these Grilled Hawaiian Teriyaki Burgers are what you are looking for! These grilled Hawaiian hamburgers are the perfect combination of salty and sweet. I have fallen in love with them and I am sure you are going to as well.
I love teriyaki and we often have Teriyaki Chicken and Chicken Teriyaki bowls during the winter months but as soon as I can start grilling (without having to wear a jacket outside) these amazing Hawaiian burgers are on our menu often.
We have a friend whose husband always jokes that he hates going to kid’s birthday parties because they always serve boring and tasteless burgers. We had him over to try out this Hawaiian Burger recipe and he loved them.
What to Serve with Burgers
I highly suggest making some extra grilled pineapple to serve with these Hawaiian hamburgers because grilled pineapple is amazing. When we make burgers I like to make cold side dishes like pasta salads and fresh salads because I make these burgers mainly in the summertime. Tips for Making this recipe
Use Frozen Burgers. If you are going to use frozen burger patties then I suggest using onion bubba burgers.
Use store bought teriyaki sauce. I like using homemade teriyaki sauce but if you are short on time you can use store bought.
Use fresh pineapple. Fresh is so much better, but if you don’t have any you can use canned just make sure they are the in juice ones and not in syrup ones.
Use a pineapple cutter. I have this awesome pineapple cutter that makes cutting fresh pineapple super easy.

Juicy Hawaiian Burgers Ingredients
- 2.5 pounds ground beef
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 5 Pineapple rings
- 1.5 Cups teriyaki sauce
- 5 Slices Colby jack cheese
- 5 Hawaiian burger buns
- Lettuce
Juicy Hawaiian Burgers Directions
In a bowl add the ground beef, 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce and onion powder and mix well.
Using a burger maker or your hands make 5 burger patties. I use this burger press and it makes my life so much easier. Set the made burgers on a plate.
Preheat the grill to 350 degrees.
Grill the hamburgers until your desired doneness. Top the burgers with the cheese 2 minutes before they are done depending on the doneness of your burger.
While you are cooking the burgers on the other side of the grill cook the pineapple slices. Cook just until they have grill marks, then flip to cook the other side. You will only need about a minute for each side, be careful not to burn them.
Brush the inside of the tops of the hawaiian buns with teriyaki sauce.
Assemble the burgers by placing the burger patty on the top of the bun bottom, then place the grilled pineapple slice, then a piece of lettuce and then a drizzle of teriyaki sauce and the bun top.
