What are Grinch Secret Kiss Sugar Cookies Cups?
These Grinch cookies are yummy green sugar cookie that is stuffed with a Hershey kiss and candy hearts on top for the perfect semi-homemade Christmas Cookie.
Tips for Making this Recipe
Do not make the cookie balls too big. You want the cookies to be smaller than the mini muffin tin holes for a two reasons. First, so the cookies do not overflow out of the tin while baking. Second, so the cookies bake all the way through without browning. Too much cookie dough around the chocolate kiss will make them not cook all the way.
Keep cooked cookies in the muffin tin. It is important to keep the baked cookies in the tin for 10 to 15 minutes after you remove them from the oven. This will help to make sure that they are not underbaked.
Use Gel food coloring. Gel food coloring works best when you are coloring cookie dough.
Keep Hershey kisses up right when putting them in the cookie dough.
Variations of this is recipe
Change up the flavor Chocolate kiss. You can use Grinch Hershey Kisses or regular Hershey Kisses. You can also change out the kisses for any other flavor you prefer or the Hugs.
Change up the Sprinkle hearts. You can use small heart sprinkles, large heart sprinkles or candy hearts.
How to store Cookie Cups
Cookie cups should be stored at room temperature but out of sunlight or direct heat. The candy in the center may melt if it gets too hot, so you can also pop them in the fridge and enjoy chilled or bring them to room temperature before eating. They’ll last for up to 5 days when kept in an airtight container.
Can I freeze Cookie cups?
Yes, if you are wanting to make cookies ahead of time so you are not doing a lot of baking at once, this grinch cookie recipe is perfect for it. Allow the cookie cups to cool completely before freezing, then transfer to freezer container or ziploc bag. If you need to stack layers, be sure to place parchment paper between them.
