How To Make A Lovie Blanket
My nephew is very attached to his lovies. The only problem was my sister only bought two of them and she needed others to trade them out. She went back to the store where she bought them from and they didn’t make them anymore. So what does she do she calls me! She knew I made those great taggie blankets for my daughter seen here Only problem was that I never made something with satin binding before. Let me say it took a lot of trials but this article breaks down the best way to sew binding. Here’s a picture of another lovie I made for him.
DIY: Baby Lovie Blanket Supplies
- soft fabric of choose
- thread
- satin blanket binding
- pins
- sewing machine
DIY: Baby Lovie Blanket Directions
Lay the fabric down so the sides are matching up. Measure the fabric the 12 inches by 12 inches and cut your fabric. Pin around the all of the edges. Sew around the blanket lining up the edge of the foot with the edge of the fabric. Open the binding up and fold the edges in. Insert the fabric into the binding and pin it to the first edge. With a zig zag stich sew the binding to the first side. Open the binding up and place the fabric in it, folding the edge of the binding. Pin the corner and sew from the corner and down the edge. Repeat with the other two sides. When you have reached the beginning cut the binding so it will reach the middle of the side. Open the binding and fold in the corners and insert the fabric into the binding. Sew the binding on.
