Cranberry Baked Brie. Gooey melted brie cheese topped with cranberry sauce and then baked in puff pastry. The perfect easy appetizer for the holidays or a party!
Cranberry Baked Brie
I love making baked brie. Actually, I should start by saying I love brie cheese any way that I can get it. For the longest time I made my baked brie recipe that uses jam and after so many times of making it I thought it would be a great idea to change things up. My first change up was making baked brie with cranberry sauce.
We had some left over homemade cranberry sauce and a round of brie cheese and some puff pastry in the house and I wanted to make a tasty snack. Knowing everyone in my house love brie cheese and they all love cranberry sauce I put the two together and WOW! The flavors are amazing together. Sweet from the cranberry sauce and the gooey melted brie cheese. It was the perfect snack for dipping in our crackers.

What do you Serve with Baked Brie?
Baked brie is an appetizer that has many great options to serve with it. My favorite way to enjoy it is with crackers and I love spreading warm baked brie with jam on a cracker. Thin sliced baguette is also a great way to enjoy warm gooey baked brie cheese.
When serving baked brie I like to make it a platter of deliciousness and include other foods to complement it. While dipping these items in the cheese is not an option they pair well with the flavors.
- sliced apples
- figs
- sliced pears
- grapes
- pecans
- walnuts
Variations and tips
Bake in pie pan. If you are serving for a party I find it easiest to bake in a pie plate because it will all stay in the dish instead of spreading when people eat it.
Add nuts. Baked Brie can be changed up by adding nuts on top of the jam before wrapping it up. The best nuts to use are pecans and walnuts.
Homemade Puff Pastry. You can make homemade puff pastry if you want to, however I just use the store bought frozen puff pastry. Before making baked brie be sure to let the puff pastry sheet thaw completely.
Roll out the puff pastry with a rolling pin. Some puff pastry sheets I am finding in the store are smaller then they used to be, if your puff pastry sheet is to small use a rolling pin and roll it out or connect 2 pieces of puff pastry sheets so it is big enough.
Cranberry sauce. I prefer to use homemade cranberry sauce but you can use the canned cranberry sauce. To make things easier if using canned cranberry sauce add it to a bowl and use a spoon to mix it so that it is not longer in the canned shape and easy to spread.
How long do you cook baked brie?
Baked brie in puff pastry is baked for 20-35 minutes. The baking time will depend on your oven, so start checking it at the 20 minute mark.
How to Store Leftover baked Brie
To store baked brie if you have any left overs, wrap tightly in plastic wrap or store in an airtight container. It will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days.
How to reheat Baked Brie from the Fridge
Place baked brie on a baking sheet and heat in the oven for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is reheated. You can wrap it in aluminum foil before heating if you would like to. You will know it is done when the cheese is melted again.
Can you Freeze Baked Brie?
You can totally freeze it and it is easy to do. Freezing it is a great way to prep ahead when you are making appetizers for a party. Just complete all the steps of adding the jam, wrapping it in puff pastry and then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and freeze.
When you are ready to bake it just unwrap from the plastic wrap, brush with the melted butter and then bake directly while still frozen. You will need to bake it a few extra minutes then if you were doing it unfrozen.
