Variations of the Recipe
The basics to making these snowman marshmallow pops are creating the snowman face on the marshmallow. After that, you want to have a base to hold the marshmallow. The fun part is that you get to be creative on both of these.
To decorate the snowman face. I like to use melted chocolate and a disposable piping bag but there are other ways to decorate the face. You can use royal icing, colored sugar, or even colored sprinkles.
Snowman Eyes. Use candy eyes or use candies like M&M’s, or mini chocolate chips for the snowman eyes.
Carrot nose. For the nose, you can do a few different things. I like to take orange gummy candy and cut them into pieces. You can also use a piece of a candy cane, melt some orange candy melts and, and draw on the nose. If you have leftover candy corn from Halloween they work well too.
For the base. I like using a candy cane because I love the way the flavor combines with the hot chocolate. I like to use the small candy canes so I can hook them on the side of a mug of hot chocolate. However, you can also use lollipop sticks, wooden skewers, a pretzel sticks, and candy cane sticks if you want to.
Change up the flavors. You can also experiment with different flavors such as using peppermint marshmallows or white chocolate instead of regular ones. You can also use homemade marshmallows instead of store-bought.
Add a Body. If you are wanting to make larger marshmallow pops you easily can by adding a full snowman body. If you want to have buttons on the snowman body the M&Ms are a favorite to use in our house.
Add a snowman hat. If you want to add a hat, you can use a peanut butter cup and then a small amount of melted chocolate to attach it on top of the snowman’s head.
How to Store
Once you’ve made your Snowman Marshmallow Pops, they should be stored in an airtight container or plastic bag. This will keep them from drying out and make sure they stay fresh for longer. It’s always a good idea to store the pops in a cool place away from direct sunlight or heat sources. The snowman marshmallow pops are best kept at room temperature.
Giving Snowman Marshmallow Pops as a Gift
Snowman Marshmallow Pops make a fun and thoughtful gift for your friends and family. Package them in a cute box or cellophane bag, attach a festive ribbon and tag, and you have the perfect holiday treat! You could also package them with hot cocoa mix to create an extra special treat they won’t forget.
