Tips for Making Strawberry Syrup
Keep an eye on your simmering pot. Every stove is different, so watch to ensure you don’t burn your syrup. If 30 minutes is too long for your stove, that’s ok. Just remove it early.
Be sure not to include the stems with your strawberries. It can add a bitter taste that’s not tasty at all.
Don’t press on the strawberries when straining the syrup. This can cause bits of fruit and such to push through the strainer into the finished product.
Can I use Frozen Strawberries?
Yes. You can use frozen strawberries for this recipe. Be sure to thaw them thoroughly before using them.
Can I add other fruit to my Strawberry Simple Syrup?
Yes. You can add other berries, including blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries, to make a mulberry-flavored sugar syrup.
Can I Use this syrup for Pancakes and waffles?
This strawberry syrup is a thin syrup that works well with desserts and drinks. If you want to use this syrup on pancakes, waffles and french toast you will want to make the syrup thicker.
