Easy Blackberry Cobbler Recipe
Blackberry cobbler is a super easy dessert recipe that is always a hit when I make it. It takes about 5 minutes of prep time, then 45 minutes to bake and then it is time to enjoy. The hardest part of this recipe is waiting for it to bake so you can enjoy it.
As it bakes in the oven the smell of the blackberries fills the house and I end up with kids asking me every few minutes how long until they can enjoy it. As soon as my kids hear me say it is out of the oven they are in the kitchen waiting for me to dish it out and pile on scoops of ice cream to enjoy.Â
This easy blackberry cobbler is perfect for making with the kids too. Most of the recipe is dump and go, there is no cutting needed and the kids can easily join in on the cooking.

How to Serve Easy Blackberry Cobbler Recipe
Add a scoop of ice cream. A classic way to enjoy a blackberry cobbler is to serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The contrast between the warm cobbler and the cold, creamy ice cream is delightful. The ice cream will slowly melt over the warm cobbler, creating a delicious sauce.
Add whipped cream. Instead of ice cream, you can also serve blackberry cobbler with freshly whipped cream.
Garnish with fresh berries. For an extra touch of freshness and visual appeal, you can garnish the cobbler with a few fresh blackberries on top.
Powdered Sugar. Lightly sprinkle the top of the blackberry cobbler with powdered sugar after placing on the serving plate.
How To store Leftover Blackberry Cobbler
Allow the cobbler to cool completely at room temperature. This prevents condensation from forming inside the storage container, which can make the cobbler soggy. Cover the cobbler tightly with plastic wrap, aluminum foil, or transfer it to an airtight container. Store it in the refrigerator. The cobbler will stay good for up to 4 days in the refrigerator.
How to reheat Blackberry Cobbler
When you’re ready to eat the leftovers, you can reheat individual portions in the microwave or reheat the entire cobbler in the oven at 350°F.
How to freeze Blackberry Cobbler
After the cobbler has cooled completely, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil, or place it in an airtight freezer-safe container. The cobbler can be frozen for up to 2-3 months. When ready to enjoy, thaw the cobbler in the refrigerator overnight and then reheat in the oven at 350°F until warmed through.
Can I use fresh berries for this cobbler?
Yes! You can also use blueberries or raspberries if that is what you have on hand. You can also use frozen blackberries when making this easy blackberry cobbler recipe.
Can I use other berries in this recipe?
Yes! You can use raspberries or blueberries instead of blackberries in this recipe. You can also use a berry mixture of blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries.
Do I have to use Mountain Dew Soda?
This recipe was made with Mountain Dew, but any similar soda should work. I’d recommend using Sprite, 7-up or ginger ale if that’s what you have on hand. I do not recommend using plain soda water because it doesn’t have the flavor and sweetness needed to make this recipe successful.
