Variations and tips
Bake in pie pan. If you are serving for a party I find it easiest to bake in a pie plate because it will all stay in the dish instead of spreading when people eat it.
Add nuts. Baked Brie can be changed up by adding nuts on top of the jam before wrapping it up. The best nuts to use are pecans and walnuts.
Homemade Puff Pastry. You can make homemade puff pastry if you want to, however I just use the store bought frozen puff pastry. Before making baked brie be sure to let the puff pastry sheet thaw completely.
Roll out the puff pastry with a rolling pin. Some puff pastry sheets I am finding in the store are smaller then they used to be, if your puff pastry sheet is to small use a rolling pin and roll it out or connect 2 pieces of puff pastry sheets so it is big enough.
Homemade apple pie filling. To make things easier I normally used canned apple pie filling but you can also use homemade apple pie filling.
Add apple slices. While I like using apple pie filling and you will want to use apple pie filling for this recipe you can add slices of fresh apples too. When doing so I like to add slices of granny smith apples into the apple mixture that comes from the can. You can also use gala apples.

Can you Freeze Baked Brie?
You can totally freeze it and it is easy to do. Freezing it is a great way to prep ahead when you are making appetizers for a party. Just complete all the steps of adding the jam, wrapping it in puff pastry, and then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and freeze.
When you are ready to bake it just unwrap it from the plastic wrap, brush it with the melted butter and then bake it directly while still frozen. You will need to bake it a few extra minutes than if you were doing it unfrozen.
