Milk chocolate or Dark chocolate. Depending on what flavor you like your hot chocolate you can use milk chocolate or dark chocolate melting chocolate.
Chocolate Mint. Instead of peppermints you can use chopped up Andes Mints.
White Chocolate. You can use white chocolate with the crushed peppermint or you can add toppings like marshmallows.

Make sure the chocolate is melted thoroughly. You want to make sure the chocolate is smoothly melted before you use it or you are going to end up with chunky chocolate on the spoon.
Allow chocolate to harden fully. While you might be impatient like myself, when you are placing the chocolate in the freezer to harden back up it is important.
Use good quality chocolate. Using a higher quality chocolate will give you a better hot chocolate flavor.

In a microwave safe mug heat heat 8 ounces of milk.
Once the milk is heated, add the hot chocolate spoon to the milk and stir until the chocolate is fully melted.
Top the hot chocolate with whipped cream if desired, if we are wanting to get really fancy then we also add some additional chopped up peppermint on top of the whipped cream.
