Unicorn Lemonade Ice Cubes

Pour the water into individual ice cube trays. Allow the ice to freeze overnight in your freezer.
Homemade Lemonade
Heat a medium pot on the stove on medium hear and add the sugar and the water.
Bring the sugar and 1.5 cups water to a boil
Set aside and let it cool.
Squeeze your lemons into a bowl.
In a large pitcher combine the rest of the water, the sugar/water mixture and the lemon juice and mix well.
Serve over ice.
Assembling Unicorn Lemonade
Once the ice cubes are made and the fresh lemonade is made it is time to put together your Unicorn lemonade.
Place your corn syrup onto a small plate.
Mix together the pink, purple and gold sprinkles or the unicorn sprinkles together on a small plate.
Dip the rim of your glass into the corn syrup up so it’s lightly coated around the rim. Dip the glass into the sprinkles and swirl it around until the whole rim so it’s covered in sprinkles.

How do you layer the ice so we get contrasting colors instead of the ice mixing into one yucky color?

So cute but I’m sad I can’t actually make them 😞
Sarah says
Cute idea but I think I’d rather do this with alternatives like cool aid or fresh fruit purees instead of food coloring
Stephanie says
You can do it with fruit purees instead of food coloring but cool aid is made with food coloring.

Freeze ice cubes that have food coloring in them divide cube tray four colors do the same with the other tray! Buy Karo corn syrup put it in the freezer so it will get thick remove from freezer 2~4 hours before making use the lighter colors on top in the glass darker on bottom. You can use rum instead of vodka sprinkle glitter in the syrup on the plate then take the glasses out of the fridge give the glass a spin in the glitter a karo corn syrup. You can find small glitter or large at a craft store put the liquids in the glass drop a couple cubes in lighter colors on top dark on bottom!

These are super cute! We did a test run for my girls birthday and I have a question – is there a trick to get the ice cubes to be a full color? I had gel food coloring and used those, blended the water and color really well before pouring into the ice cube tray and freezing it. The color separated from the water. Is it more uniform with regular food coloring? Thanks!!
