This Cake Batter Playdough is another addition to our tasty and amazing fun we are having in my house! Not only is this Frosting Playdough fun to play with and make but it smells AMAZING! It totally reminds me of cake and my kids called it cake playdough.
My kids are obsessed with Play Dough and slime right now. It doesn’t matter if it is edible slime made with lifesavers or glitter fluffy slime or Scented Playdough, they want to get their hands in it!
I am totally ok with that but they are keeping me on my toes with getting creative. I decided to make a fun yummy twist on the Playdough. Using frosting and a few other pantry ingredients this edible playdough made with Frosting is perfect.
This recipe is made with all the food items and is totally safe if they kiddos eat it. I will say it does not taste all that great because of the cornstrach but if you have a kid who likes to taste things, they will be totally ok with this homemade edible playdough recipe.
If your kids are big fans of playdough then you might want to grab this 4.5 pound tub of frosting! Then you will never run out.
How to Play with Frosting Playdoh

Tips for making Frosting Playdough
Use any Flavor Frosting. You can use ANY frosting that you want to! I chose to use the funfetti frosting because it comes with sprinkles and it made my life easier.
Use Homemade Frosting or store bought. You can use homemade or storebought frostinig when making this edible play-doh.
I recommend premixing in the sprinkles if your child is younger and tends to make a mess of things.
Dry plydough. If you end up having trouble with your Play-Doh not sticking together all you need to do is add more frosting.
Coloring Frosting playdough. If you want to color the edible playdoh you can by adding 2-3 drops of food coloring when you are mixing it.
How to Store Frosting playdoh
When you are done making and playing with the playdough store it in an air tight container or a zip close bag.
How long will this playdoh last?
It should last 3-4 days depending on how well it is stored, however keep an eye out for mold growth because this is made with food items.

- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/3 cup frosting
- 2 tablespoon sprinkles
How to Make Frosting Playdough
In a medium mixing bowl whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth.
Stir in the frosting to the cornstarch mixture until the play doh starts to form.
Place the play doh onto your counter and knead the mixture until it gets to the texture of play doh, if the mixture is too dry you can add more frosting 1 tablespoon at a time.
Knead the sprinkles into the playdoh.
