If you are wanting to freeze this cookie dough it is easy to do. There are a few ways to freeze chocolate chip cookie dough.
Freeze Chocolate chip cookie dough as a cookie. Using a cookie scoop scoop the cookie dough and place it on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Put the baking sheet with raw cookie dough in the freezer for 2-3 hours. Once all of the cookie dough pieces are cooked store them in a freezer bag in the freezer.

To freeze the cookies after you have baked them, cool cookies completely. Store them in an airtight container either on a single layer or in multiple layers with parchment paper in between the layers of cookies.
How long will Cherry chocolate chip cookies last in the freezer?
These chocolate cherry cookies will last up to 6 months in the freezer as baked cookies. If you are are freezing the cookie dough it will last for 3-6 months depending on your freezer.
Tips for Making Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies
Do NOT over mix! When you are adding in the flour once it is all combined stop mixing.
Space out the cookies when you put them on the baking sheet. It is important that you leave room on the baking sheet between the cookies when you put them on the tray.
Let them cool! I know you might be tempted to eat one as soon as they come out of the oven, but it is important to let them cool and finish baking on the baking sheet when you take them out of the oven.
My BEST Cookie tip for making cookies is to get a cookie scoop.I highly recommend getting yourself a Cookie Scoop. Not only does it make scooping the cookie dough easier but it keeps them the same size so you can be sure all the cookies bake evenly.
Use mixing bowls with rubber bottoms. If you are looking for THE BEST mixing bowls These with the rubber bottoms are my favorite! They don’t slip when I am doing my baking and mixing.
Bake the cookies on Parchment paper instead of directly on your cookie sheet. If you don’t have dried cherries on hand you can substitute it for Craisins since they have a similar flavor and texture.
