How to make a Quesadilla in the shape of a heart
Since a tortilla is very soft it is simple to change the shape of it with just a pairing knife. If you’re not good at free handing a heart shape then you can carefully fold it in half and just cut out the half of the heart along the edge of the tortilla. When you open it back up you will have an even tortilla heart.
If you are like me and not so great at cutting things into shapes, just grab this 10 inch heart shaped cookie cutter – then you have no worries at all!
When I’m cutting out the tortillas I make sure that I stack two of them on top of each other so that way when I go to cook them they are the same size.
What goes good in quesadilla?
You don’t have to stick with just cheese for these heart shaped quesadillas, you can totally change them up to be different types. There are lots of different quesadilla filling options, you could even turn these into buffalo chicken quesadillas!
You will need the cheese so that it melts, but aside from that the combinations are basically endless and you can customize them however you want. I prefer to have my quesadillas with cheese, a veggie or 2 and a meat.
- Chicken
- steak
- Ground beef with homemade taco seasoning
- tomatoes
- onions
- peppers
- mushrooms
- black olives
- jalapeno peppers
What do you dip a quesadilla in?
When we make quesadillas we love making homemade salsa, and homemade guacamole for dipping, but they also taste amazing dipped in sour cream!
What to Serve with quesadillas
You can enjoy them on their own as a lunch or a snack. If you are wanting to make a full meal out of them, there are lots of side dishes you can make to go with them to make them a full meal. Many times quesadillas are a side dish in our house for when we have taco night.
