Broccoli and Cheese Sausage Quiche
I originally shared this easy sausage quiche recipe a few years ago and it was time to update the photos to show you just how amazing this Cheddar Cheese, Broccoli, and Sausage Quiche is. This sausage and broccoli quiche is super easy to make and easily changed up to fit what you have on hand. I love when healthy recipes are easy to make and can be changed up just in case I forgot something when I was shopping.
With a flaky pie crust and savory broccoli and sausage filling, this easy quiche recipe is perfect for an easy dinner or a healthy brunch or breakfast. This easy recipe has been in our family meal rotation for years and is one of our favorite recipes. It is easy to make, the whole family loves it and leftovers taste amazing. My kids always ask me to double the recipe when they hear it is for dinner because they love the leftovers for breakfast and lunch the next day.
This homemade quiche was the first recipe I ever learned to make. My best friend’s mother made it often and while she made hers fully from scratch (I am talking the crust from homemade wheat flour that was made with fresh wheat berries.). I changed things up a bit to make it easier and quicker to make. If you have time to make a homemade wheat crust from scratch feel free to. But when you are making this simple recipe keeps things how they fit with your time.
What to Serve with Quiche
If you are serving this easy savory quiche for breakfast or brunch then serve it with easy breakfast sides including brown sugar bacon or air fryer bacon, fruit salad, fresh fruit, or any of your other favorite brunch recipes or breakfast recipes.
If you are serving for dinner then you already have your meat and veggies covered in the main dish but adding a tasty salad or other side dishes will round out the meal. We love making Olive Garden Salad, and strawberry spinach salad, but you can make any salad and dressing. I like making homemade salad dressings and homemade Olive Garden salad dressing, Poppyseed salad dressing, and Garlic Lime Vinaigrette are my go tos.
Variations of this recipe
Change up the meat. You can use ground turkey, ground chicken, or ground sausage for this recipe.
Change up the pie crust. You can use a whole wheat pie crust, a homemade pie crust, or refrigerated pie crust depending on the amount of time you have to get dinner on the table.
Change up the cheese. If you do not have cheddar cheese on hand then you can use a different cheese, white cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack Cheese, or Colby Jack Cheese.
Change up the veggies. Not a fan of broccoli? You can change up the veggies to ones you love. Bell pepper, zucchini, onions, green onions, and fresh mushrooms are great options.
Tips for Making a Quiche
Grease the pie dish well. Be sure to grease the pie pan well with nonstick cooking spray. Not doing so will make it so the cooked quiche sticks to the pie pan when you go to remove it and serve.
Use fresh veggies. Using frozen veggies will add more water to the quiche and make it watery.
Shred your own cheese. Shredded cheese is great for easy cooking but it is coated to make it not stick together when in the package. Shredding your own cheese is easy and is the best way to go for shredded cheese.
Can I double this recipe?

Can Quiche be Frozen?
Yes! If you want to make this easy quiche ahead of time and freeze you definitely can, but you do need to bake the entire quiche before freezing it. If you are going to be freezing the whole quiche I suggest making and baking it in a tin foil pan. When you want to serve it thaw in the fridge overnight and then bake at 350ºF for about 20 minutes.
You can also slice the quiche into serving sizes pieces and freeze that way for easy meal prep and the slices can be reheated in the microwave.
