Easy Fried Rice Recipe
Chinese food is my favorite takeout food. However as much as I love Chinese take out it is not always in the budget. With a family of 6 it can get quite expensive getting Chinese take out so over the years I have taught myself a few recipes to make at home.
I was totally in the mood for fried rice so I tossed all this together and made some. In true Chinese food fashion, it tasted even better when I reheated the leftovers later on!
I created this easy fried recipe back in 2011. I never took photos recipes back then and recently thought it would be a great one to take photos of and share again.

Best Veggies for Fried Rice
Red peppers and onions were all I had on hand when I was making , but feel free to add more veggies. This is a great recipe to make when you are looking in the fridge and see you have containers of left over steamed veggies from previous meals. Carrots, peas, celery, broccoli, or sugar snap peas would all make good additions!
Best Meat for Fried Rice
If I have chicken, beef or pork chops that I need to use up then I will at times cook them in a little bit of oil on the stove and then toss them into the fried rice as well. That is one of the great things about this recipe is that once you have the basics for the rice and seasonings you can add whatever veggies and meat that you would like to or that you have on hand.
Brown Rice or White Rice?
I normally buy brown rice because it is what we prefer. However this recipe will also work with white rice, jasmine rice and even the minute rice.
