Oven Baked Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower Bites Recipe
I have been making this recipe for years, and it has been on the blog since 2015 and it was time for some new photos and I am excited about how the photos came out!
When my kids were younger I loved finding sneaky ways to get them to eat vegetables. I came up with many recipes that were loaded with vegetables that they didn’t even realize had them. For example, my cauliflower pizza crust, my kids had no clue that wasn’t “real pizza crust” for a very long time.
Now that they are all older they love their veggies, and while they know that cauliflower pizza crust is made with veggies they don’t care they still ask for it.
One of the things I used to make often was these Buffalo Cauliflower bites, the kids called them cauliflower buffalo wings. They told me they reminded them of hot wings but with a veggie. Even now that they are teens there are times that they will ask for these and thankfully this buffalo cauliflower recipe is super easy to make.
Of course, I am going to mention right now that these tasty cauliflower bites do not take like buffalo chicken wings. They are made with a veggie, not meat and while they have buffalo flavor like traditional buffalo wings they are made with cauliflower florets. Spicy buffalo cauliflower bites will taste like a veggie, because they are veggies but they are delicious.

What are Cauliflower Wings?
Cauliflower wings, also known as cauliflower bites, are a vegetarian alternative to traditional chicken wings. Made from bite-sized cauliflower florets, they are coated in a batter and then baked until crispy. Similar to buffalo chicken wings, cauliflower wings are typically coated in a spicy and tangy buffalo sauce, although they can also be flavored with a variety of other sauces and seasonings.
Do these taste like hot wings?
No. This recipe tastes like buffalo cauliflower. I know many people will say that cauliflower can be used to taste like other things, but it is still a vegetable. This recipe will not replace hot wings, it will not taste like chicken no matter what you do as you are cooking cauliflower. With that being said, they are delicious, they are a great snack and they are a great way to enjoy more veggies.
How to Serve
Normally these crispy cauliflower bites are a side dish or an appetizer for us. I serve them with ranch dressing or bleu cheese dressing. If I am making an appetizer platter with them on it I also include celery sticks and carrot sticks as well. You can dip these buffalo cauliflower bites in your favorite dipping sauce that you use when enjoying traditional wings.
Tips & Variations for Making this Recipe
Make them crispier. If you want to have crispy buffalo cauliflower bites after coating them in the hot sauce, add them back into the oven for 8-10 minutes and the hot sauce will get crispy on the outside.
Change up the sauce. If you are not a fan of Frank’s Red hot sauce then you can use a different hot sauce when making this buffalo cauliflower bites recipe, or I suggest using a homemade buffalo sauce.
Lay on an even layer. When placing them on the baking sheet be sure to put them in an even layer, this way the cauliflower cooks evenly in the oven.
How to Store Leftovers
These cauliflower buffalo bites are best served right after cooking, but if you do have leftovers store them in an airtight container in the fridge. They will keep for 3-4 days in the fridge.
